1. What are the functions of St. Lucia Marine Terminals Ltd. (SLMTL)?"
   a. Answer: St. Lucia Marine Terminals Limited (SLMTL) is the operator of Port Vieux Fort. They provide all port services as those     available at  Port Castries or any other regional port. However, transshipment is the core business of SLMTL and it is the        primary transshipment port in Saint Lucia.

2. Is SLMTL linked to the Soufriere Marine Management Authority?

    a. Answer: No, SLMTL operates the Vieux Fort Seaport.

3. Is SLMTL linked to the Marine police unit?
    a. Answer: No, there is no link except that the Marine Police patrol Saint Lucia waters including the area designated as the           Vieux Fort  Seaport.

4. Is SLMTL part of the Fisheries complex?
    a. Answer: No, these are two separate entities, although the Fisheries complex is located within the area designated as the           Vieux Fort Seaport.

5. Where is SLMTL located?
    a. Answer: Port Vieux Fort is located at the southern most tip of the island, New Dock Road, Vieux Fort.

6. Is SLMTL a Department of the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA)?
    a. Answer: SLMTL is a wholly owned subsidiary company of SLASPA.

7. Who should inform me of the arrival of my goods/barrel?
    a. Answer: It is the agent's responsibility to inform the consignee accordingly.

8. How does the port charge for its services?
    a. Answer: Port charges are outlined in the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (Seaport Tariff Regulations) No. 13 of 1983.

9. What are the hours of operation?
    a. Answer: SLMTL operates a 24 hour port, meaning that vessel operations takes place at any time of the day or on any day of          the year as requested. However, the office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Mondays to Fridays.


10. What is the capacity of Port Vieux Fort?
     a. Answer: 633 TEU bottom spaces or 1899 TEU spaces stacking 3 high 40 reefer points 20 -   forty foot interchange slots

11. What berthing facilities are available?
     a. Answer: A Finger Pier 500 ft (163m long and 50 ft (15m) wide. It can accommodate vessels on either side. The height of the         quay from the water level at low tide is 7.5 ft (2.3m) and at high tide it measures 6.5 ft (2m). The water depth along side is 35       ft (11m).1 Lift-on/Lift-off Container Berth (inclusive of a roll-on/roll-off ramp) 690ft (210m) in length. The height of the quay         from the water level at low tide is 8ft. (2.5m) and 7ft. (2m) at high tide. The depth of the water alongside is 35ft. (11m).

12. What equipment is available at Port Vieux Fort?
      a. Answer: 1 mobile harbour crane with automatic spreader. Heavy lift capacity of 80 tons.

      3 - Diesel powered three ton forklifts
